    Ingredients

To make these Hawaiian roll sliders, you’ll need

    • Hawaiian rolls (we used King’s Hawaiian rolls)
    • Swiss cheese
    • Deli Ham slices or leftover ham
    • Unsalted Butter
    • Everything bagel seasoning
    • Mayonnaise
    • Mustard (optional)
    • Brown sugar: I do not use this as King’s Hawaiian rolls are already sweet. If using regular slider rolls, you can mix it with the butter be poppy seeds before brushing the top of the bun.

    Ingredient Substitutions

Everything bagel seasoning: I love EBS so that’s what I use but you can use only Sesame seeds or Poppy Seeds if that’s your preference.

Swiss cheese: Use your favorite cheese like Provolone, Cheddar, Mozzarella etc

The buns: You can substitute the Hawaiian sweet rolls with any other slider bun or use refrigerated biscuit dough to make biscuit burgers or biscuit sliders. FYI ham and cheese biscuit sliders is actually a thing!

Mayonnaise: You can any burger sauce you prefer instead of mayonnaise and or Mustard. Sauces like Fry sauce, Mayochup wouod work perfectly here.

How to make hot ham and cheese sliders in the air fryer

This is an overview of the recipe with step by step photos. Scroll down to end of post for a printable recipe card with the amount of ingredients and full recipe instructions.

Making air fryer ham and cheese sliders is super easy. The following steps will show you exactly how we do it here at air fryer yum!

First slice the bread in half horizontally so you have two buns (a top and bottom bun) You can either do this while the buns are still together or separate them into Individual buns before slicing whichever you find easier.

Cut the cheese into quarts and set aside. Spread the mayonnaise on the inner side of each bun.

Place all the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls in the air fryer basket with mayo side facing up.

Place the cheese on the bun. Fold the ham to fit the bun before placing it on the cheese. Next cover with the top halves of the buns.

Brush the top of the buns with the butter and everything bagel seasoning mix or poppy seeds.

Air fry at 350°F / 180°C for 6 to 8 mins or until the cheese melts.

Gently lift out the sliders from the air fryer basket onto a serving platter and serve.

    What to serve with

Sliders can be served on its own or with air fryer French fries.

    How to store and reheat

These are best eaten as soon as they are made. However if you have leftovers you can wrap in parchment paper before placing in an airtight container. Then store in that refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Reheat in the microwave at 20 secs intervals till warmed through. For the air fryer, place the sliders in the air fryer basket and air fry at 350°F / 180°C for 5 to 6 mins or until warmed through.

Tips for Air fryer ham and cheese sliders

    • We love to use King's Hawaiian rolls to make air fryer sliders. You could use any slider roll you can find including homemade Hawaiian rolls or pre sliced store bought slider rolls.
    • You don’t need to preheat the air fryer. However if cooking in batches the second batch will cook faster since the air fryer got preheated while cooking the first batch.

    FAQs

How many Hawaiian rolls can fit in an air fryer?

This would depend on your air fryer. A dozen Hawaiian rolls fit in my Cosori 5.8qt, Gourmia 6qt and one rack of my instant vortex oven. (Two dozen in the two racks)

    What is a slider?

A slider is the mini version of a hamburger. Hence the reason it is also referred to an mini burgers. They are served as appetizers at parties including game day parties, they can also be served as hors d'oeuvres or snacks. If you were wondering what the difference between a slider and a burger, this is it, it’s just in the size.

How long do you cook ham and cheese sliders in an air fryer?

These were made in a non preheated air fryer. It took me 8 mins to warm through and melt the cheese. If you preheat your air fryer, these should be ready in 6 mins.
