Air fryer shrimp Recipe (Jerk shrimp Recipe)

Air fryer shrimp is one of our favorite seafood sides. This crowd pleasing appetizer can be enjoyed in a variety of ways using different seasoning options like jerk seasoning, Cajun or your favorite blend. Bacon wrapped shrimp, is another favorite here at Air fryer yum but today we will be making this delicious jerk shrimp recipe.

Equipment

  • Air fryer

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb jumbo shrimps
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Jerk seasoning spice blend

  • 2 - 3 Tablespoons homemade blend or use the individual spices below if you do not have jerk seasoning blend
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon bouillon
  • ⅛ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar free brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon all spice
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Fresh Shrimps

  • Clean and devein shrimps.
  • Dry with paper towel, add oil, lemon juice and seasoning, toss to coat
  • Transfer to air fryer basket or air fryer safe bowl if you prefer and cook at 400°F / 204°C for 10 - 14 mins or to your desired level of doneness.

Pre cooked Frozen Shrimps

  • Place frozen cleaned shrimps in a bowl of warm water for 30 mins and drain with a colander.
  • Pat the shrimps dry with paper towel.
  • Pour oil and lemon juice over shrimps, toss till evenly coated.
  • Add the spice blend and mix to coat.
  • If you have time on your hands let seasoned shrimps marinate for about 20 mins.
  • Place seasoned shrimps in air fryer basket. Set temperature to 400°F / 204°C for 6-8 mins, cook for up to 10 mins if you like it crispy.
  • Serve with dipping sauce or as a side dish

Notes

  1. I used pre cooked frozen shrimps. If using fresh shrimps, cook for 10-14 mins this depends on how well done you like your shrimps.
  2. I would recommend Jumbo shrimps for this recipe.
  3. If cooking shrimps from frozen, add 3-4 mins to cooking time (this will also depend on how done you like yours)
