Chocolate Banana muffins in Air fryer!
Oh yes chocolate lover! This is your jam. Just like these chocolate zucchini muffins, my chocolate loving 5 year old asks for these chocolate banana muffins all the time and her elder sister can literally whip it up in minutes in the air fryer from start to finish.
Even when the bananas are not yet spotty and mushy, we simply ripen the bananas in the air fryer, let them cool, mash them and use them to make these goodies.
I enjoy baking in my air fryer. The last time I made cupcakes I added a bit of this lavender extract and we loved it. Give air fryer baking a try I think you’ll love it.
When baking muffins in the air fryer, I love to use silicon molds because they help with easy release. Same with these air fryer poached eggs in silicon cups, easy peasy.
Is Banana Bread a Dessert or Breakfast?
Good question! I was wondering the same. This is one of those kind of recipes that get caught in between and here’s my take on it.
Banana bread can be breakfast when it’s your good ol’ bread without all the bells and whistles that come with sweet additions like chocolate chips.
When you begin to add things like cocoa and and chocolate chips to the mix, we would have to agree we are moving towards a dessert kind of breakfast. So I would say use plain yummy banana bread and muffins for breakfast and keep the chocolate chip ones for snacks and desserts.

Recipe instructions doesn’t say where to add the 1 cup of sugar; assume it’s with the dry ingredients?
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi WL,
Thank you for your observation. You are right it should be included with the dry ingredients. It’s been updated. Hope you enjoyed the recipe.

330°F / 165°C for up to 25 mins. Cover with foil in the first 20 mins then remove the foil and continue baking till a tooth pick or cake tester comes out clean.

Hi, I'm in Australia and just came across your site and love the thought of using Bananas and Chocolate together. I'm a newbie to Air Frying and wondering if I could make this recipe into a round or log cake? Thank you.
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Josephine!
Thank you for stopping by. Yes you can make this in a loaf tin or round cake tin. However it will cook longer. I have banana cake made in a cake pan (bundt cake pan) please check it out for more info!

The main difference is that you will cook for longer. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask any further questions if you need help. Welcome to Air Fryer Yum

I'm definitely going to try these. Can you use a sugar substitute that measures 1 for 1?
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Carol,
You can definitely use any sugar substitute that’s subs 1:1 with sugar. I usually use the monk fruit-erythritol blend. You could also use sugar free chocolate chips if you prefer. Please let me know how it goes cos I know you’ll love it.😊
