Why make frozen corn dogs in the air fryer?
The question should be why not. The air fryer is a powerful kitchen appliance that’s small but mighty. You can practically make anything you can make in the oven in the air fryer and in less time too.
I use mine everyday and I am not stopping anytime soon, because it works and serves my purpose. It makes the best French fries, chicken nuggets or tenders, Mozzarella sticks and breaded mushrooms are ace in the air fryer with less oil. The best crispy exteriors ever.
Whenever I want to oblige the kids, this is the way I make frozen corndogs, not in the microwave. Below are a few reasons we aren’t considering doing it any other way.
- It’s so convenient I can’t help it. I just toss it into the basket straight from the freezer and get my snack cooking.
- No need for extra oil
- They come out perfectly hot and crispy every time unlike the microwave.
Do I need to preheat the air fryer?
Since air fryers vary in models and manufacturers, my first response would be to read your manufacturer’s manual to know what your specific air fryer needs.
However I did not preheat mine. And it came out perfect. Bear in mind that subsequent batches are likely to cook faster than the first batch because the air fryer got preheated while cooking the first batch.
