- This recipe is easily adaptable. Skip the bacon and use Turkey bacon instead.
- Everyone loves it at least everyone in my house does which says a lot cos I have some picky eaters.
Eggs Bacon and Toast song
Ever heard the phrase start your day the Gergich way? Did you know this song from the show Parks and recreation about eggs bacon and toast because it just sums up how amazing this air fryer breakfast is. It’s worthy enough to deserve a song 😉
The song goes this way. ♫ Eggs, bacon and toast. Eggs, bacon and toast. Why don’t you start your day the Gergich way with eggs, bacon and toast! ♫
Is this recipe the same as Egg in a hole?
No it’s not the same. Egg in a hole is an entirely different open sandwich. With egg in a hole, you will need to cut out the middle of the bread with a cookie cuter and fill the hole with an egg before frying.
For Egg bacon and toast, the bacon creates a dam for the egg as is seen in this video.
What ingredients do you need.
- Bread
- Butter: I like to spread some butter on the surface touching the basket to prevent the eggs from sipping through to the basket.
- Eggs
- Bacon
- Black pepper
How to make Eggs bacon and toast in the air fryer
Butter one side of a bread slice, place buttered side down in the air fryer basket.
Create a dam for the eggs by placing the bacon in a ring form.
Pour egg within the bacon ring. Repeat process for second slice. Slide air fryer basket in. Set temperature to 350°F / 177°C and air fryer for 8 mins.
Helpful Tips
- Spread butter on one side of each bread It helps prevent the egg from leaking through and also adds a nice taste and crunch to the toast.
- No need to preheat the air fryer.

Video
Notes
- I don’t recommend using extra large eggs for this recipe, it will spill over the bacon dam a lot more than it did with the large eggs I used.
- Medium eggs can be used, however I would recommend lowering the temp to 330°F and cook for 8-10 mins.
- The eggs in this recipe are fully cooked. If you like runny eggs, you might want to cook for 6 mins.

just got my new air fryer, so I tried this, oh yum! turned out so good, I only had thick bacon, but I precooked it, and the cooked all for 8 minutes, it was perfect !

Hi Marian!
Happy it worked out perfectly for you! Thank you for letting us know. Hope you enjoy your air fryer as much as we enjoy ours. Thanks again.
Rusty Pots says
Using thick bacon requires longer time, but toast turns to a crouton and egg is a rubber ball. Any tips (other than precooking the bacon)!? Precooking never works for me.
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Rusty,
Precooking the bacon may work best for you. Since you’d rather not go that route, I would suggest you use regular cut bacon. Place bacon on the bread first then start cooking. Add the egg about 3 to 4 mins before the end of the cooking time.
Now if you would consider precooking the bacon. Place it in a circle in the air fryer. Cook half way, make an indentation at the center of the bread with a spoon, put the bread in. Place the round bacon on the bread where you made the indentation, pour in the egg into the indentation and cook for 4 minutes or until the egg is set to your liking and bacon fully cooked. Hope that helps. Thanks for stopping by.

I had trouble initially getting egg to stay in....I used prosciutto and rolled it very easily into a rose looking cup. I also used a tablespoon to depress a little "bowl" into bread where I sat the prosciutto rose. Simple and yummy!

Hi Jody,
Happy you found it yummy. Thanks for the tip about pressing the bread down in the middle I do that when I make egg in a basket I should have included it here too.
Josh says
My bacon didn't cook all the way and the toast was extremely hard on the edges.
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Josh,
Thanks for letting me know. Did you watch the video? The way it looks in that video is how mine always turns out. Let’s troubleshoot a bit and find out why yours didn’t cook through.
Air fryers cook differently. I have used the Cosori and Gourmia brands for this recipe.
Did you use the same temp and time?
The bacon cooks through but doesn’t get super crispy. If you love crispy bacon, I’d suggest you precook the bacon for 3 to 4 mins (it should still be soft and pliable) I like fully cooked eggs. You might also want to reduce the time so the eggs are still runny or jammy whichever your preference is.
Hope this helps and makes the next one you make more to your taste. Please let me know how it goes if you try it again. Thanks for stopping by.

I tried it and liked it very much but next time I will precook the bacon to limit some of the grease soaking into the bread. Thanks for sharing 😎
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Dale,
Thanks for taking out time to leave me a feedback! Happy you liked it. Yes you can precook the bacon if you prefer. However make sure it’s still pliable when you use it so it can help keep the eggs in. Happy air frying.
Sean says
My bacon and eggs were good but bread only toasted very mildly on one side other side not toasted at all?????
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Sean,
I haven’t had this experience. Which air fryer do you have? The bread should be toasted all through by the time the bacon and eggs are cooked.
Jennifer says
I really enjoyed this, but do make sure the white of the egg is thoroughly cooked as. Nobody likes a "snotty egg" x
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Jennifer,
I couldn’t agree more!
M durston says
I tried this, but I cooked on 200dg, for 10minutes but white didn't want to set.whag am I doing wrong, egg was medium, but straight from fridge.
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi M Durston,
You said you made these at 200° you didn’t say if it was in Fahrenheit or Celsius. If it was in Fahrenheit, that’d low and would take a much longer time to cook. This recipe was made at 350°F / 180°C. Hope this helps. Please read through the post for more tips.
Jonathan Miller says
Did you preheat the air fryer?
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Jonathan,
No, I didn’t preheat the air fryer. Thanks

This was delicious. I struggled a bit with getting the eggs to stay in the bacon ring. With the video and more practice I got better. So yummy. Thanks for sharing.
