    Air fryer everything but the bagel Salmon or everything bagel Salmon is an easy 2 ingredients fish recipe that’s perfect for midweek dinner. This air fryer salmon recipe gets ready in less than 15 minutes with little prep and minimal cleanup.

    Top this with cream cheese sauce or serve as is with your favorite vegetable side dishes like air fryer asparagus, air fryer broccoli or this air fryer roasted vegetables to make a delicious low carb meal out of it.

    What is everything bagel seasoning

    Since we are making this salmon with everything thing bagel seasoning, it won’t be out of place to ask what’s in everything bagel seasoning and what exactly it is.

    Everything bagel seasoning is a popular seasoning used on every thing bagels. It made up of spices like garlic granules, onion powder and a mix of seeds like black and white sesame seeds. This blend is usually sold on line or in grocery stores.

    Ingredients

    • Salmon: You can use fresh or thawed frozen salmon fillets for this recipe. Salmon with skin or skinless salmon also works perfectly to make this recipe.
    • Oil: Any mild tasting oil will work perfectly for air fryer everything but the bagel salmon.
    • Everything but the bagel seasoning: This is the star of this recipe. I have used Trader Joe’s brand, Aldi’s and Old Thompson brand from Costco. If you can’t find some in your nearby grocery store or online, you could try this DIY homemade everything bagel seasoning too.

    How to make everything but the bagel salmon in air fryer.

    This is an overview of the recipe with step by step photos. Scroll down to end of post for a printable recipe card with the amount of ingredients and full recipe instructions.

    Gather your ingredients. Rinse salmon and Pat dry with paper towels. Brush oil on one side of the salmon fillet. Sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning generously then flip over and repeat.

    Air fry at 400°F / 200°C for 10 to 12 mins. Use a Spatula to flip over half way through cooking time

    How do you know when salmon is done

    Don’t worry, it’s easy to find know when your salmon dinner is done and ready to be devoured. Here’s how to do it. You can either use your finger or a fork.

    First the fish should be firm then press fork or finger down at the top of the salmon fillets. If it flakes easily then the salmon is fully cooked. Alternatively, it should reach an internal temp of 145°F as per FDA recommendations when checked with a meat thermometer. The color of the cooked salmon is different from the bright color of raw salmon

    How to store and reheat

    Air fried salmon can keep for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Here’s what you should do;

    • Fridge: Let salmon cool completely before storing in the refrigerator in an air tight container for up to 3 days.
    • Freezer: Air fried anything but the bagel salmon freezes well. I recommend freezing hot up to 2 weeks.

    Reheating

    Though you can reheat cooked and frozen salmon, I recommend you let it thaw before reheating so it doesn’t get tough from overcooking.

    Air frying Tips

    • No need to preheat the air fryer to make everything but the bagel salmon. However if you do preheat or your air fryer preheats automatically, you will need to cook for less time, usually 8 to 10 mins
    • Use Parchment paper for easy clean up
    • If cooking Air fryer salmon for the first time in your air fryer, start checking for doneness at the lower time indicated in the recipe. Preferably at 7 mins.

    Frequently asked questions

    How long does it take to air fry salmon at 400°F

    Based on a non preheated air fryer. Salmon will cook for 10 to 12 mins at 400°F / 200°C and 8 to 10 mins in a preheated air fryer.

    Do you have to flip salmon in at fryer?

    I like to flip salmon when cooking it in the air fryer to ensure all sides are cooked evenly especially if it’s a thick cut. However you may not need to flip salmon with skin on.

    Can I use Frozen Salmon for this recipe

    Yes you can use frozen salmon for this recipe and the best part is that you don't need to thaw to cook frozen salmon. If it's icy you can run the salmon under water to remove the icy glaze then season as indicated in this recipe and cook for 2 to 3 minutes longer in the air fryer.

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 salmon fillets
    • 1 Tablespoon oil
    • 2 Tablespoons Everything bagel seasoning

    Instructions
     

    • Pat Salmon dry with paper towels. Brush some oil on the salmon fillets, sprinkle half of the everything but the bagel seasoning on the fillets. Flip over and repeat the process with the rest of the seasoning.
    • Place seasoned fillets in a parchment paper lined air fryer basket and air fry at 400°F / 200°C for 10 to 12 mins.
    • Serve with your favorite side dish.

      Looks so yummy! Do you have a recipe for the asparagus? Probably very simple but I haven’t cooked much in my IP air fryer Mini (2 quart) and not a good cook anyway!

        Hi Kmush,

        A little spritz of oil, then season the asparagus to your taste, I like to use garlic powder and salt. Air fry at 400°F / 200°C for 6 to 8 mins.
