Ingredients (with Substitutions)
- Boneless Skinless Salmon fillets
- Paprika
- Garlic powder
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Red Pepper flakes
- Black pepper
- Dry parsley
You can substitute the other ingredients with an all purpose fish seasoning like old bay or Cajun. You can also use your favorite fish seasoning homemade or store bought.

How long to cook Salmon bites in air fryer
Salmon bites take around 8 to 10 mins to cook in a non preheated air fryer at 380°F / 190°C We like our salmon crispy so we cook it for additional 2 to 5 minutes. If you cook at 400°F / 200°C it will cook in less time usually 6 to 8 mins.
When cooking salmon in the air fryer, the best way to know it’s done is that the color will become paler than when it was raw and it flakes easily when pressed with a fork or a knife.
You could also use a meat thermometer to check when salmon is done. It will read 145°F / 63°C when it’s cooked.
How to make salmon bites in air fryer

Step 1: Cut salmon Salmon fillets into 2 inch cubes, season with seasoning mix and oil.
Step 2: Toss to coat, ensure it’s evenly coated. Then transfer to an air fryer basket or tray. Arrange in a single layer.
Step 3: Set temperature to 380°F and cook for 8 to 10 mins add more time in 2 minutes increments if you want it crispy.
Step 4: Serve with your favorite side dish.
What is the best Salmon for this recipe
The best salmon fillet for this recipe is the boneless skinless salmon. You can also use frozen boneless skinless salmon which is even easier to cut into cubes.
Simply let it thaw slightly before cutting. If all you can get is salmon with skin, you can remove the skin by following the instructions in this video.

Salmon bites store very well and taste just like the day it was made when reheated in the air fryer. This means it makes for a great addition to your air fryer meal prep recipes.
To store, let salmon bites cool completely before storing in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Place salmon bites in the air fryer and cook at 350°F / 180°C for up to 5 mins or until warmed through.

- No need to preheat the air fryer.
- You can use parchment to prevent it from sticking or you brush the air fryer basket lightly with oil.
- Cold salmon is easier to cut as it is less slippery. Putting the salmon in the freezer for a few minutes will make easier to cut.
- Cut the salmon bites into equal sizes about 2 inches Thor will ensure it cooked evenly.
- Do not overcrowd the basket, cook in batches if needed

How to cut a salmon fillet into cubes
Put Fresh Salmon fillets in the freezer for 5 to 10 mins to firm it up. When it’s ready, Place cold Salmon fillets on a clean chopping board, cut each fillet into 2 or 3 lengthwise (this will depend on how wide each fillet is) then rotate and cut vertically into 3 to 4 cubes) your goal is to get 2 inch cubes.
Are Salmon bites the same as Salmon nuggets?
Salmon bites and nuggets are almost the same. All Salmon nuggets are Salmon bites but not all salmon bites are nuggets. Hold on let me explain.
Nuggets are usually dipped in batter and sometimes breaded then fried like these air fryer chicken nuggets. Salmon bites could be plain like the recipe shared today but salmon nuggets are battered / breaded salmon bites.
How long to cook Salmon at 350°F?
I prefer to cook salmon between 380°F / 190°C to 400°F / 200°C in the air fryer. I found that’s it’s my happy place. 380°F for salmon bites and 400°F for Air fryer Salmon fillets.
Cooking at 350°F / 180°C in a non preheated air fryer will take up to 18 mins. As always use a meat thermometer and it should read 145°F / 63°C
Can you cook salmon bites from frozen in the air fryer?
Yes you can cook salmon bites from frozen in the air fryer you will need to add 3 to 5 mins to the cooking time stated in this recipe. If the bites are stuck together you need to separate by running under tap water then pat dry, add oil and seasoning then air fry. Remember to shake basket at least halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Air Fryer Salmon bites
Ingredients
- 5 salmon fillets
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dry parsley
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ Teaspoon salt
Instructions
Cut salmon fillets into bites
- Rinse Salmon fillets and pat dry. Pop it into the freezer for 5 to 10 mins to help with a cleaner cut.
- Place cold Salmon fillets on a clean chopping board, cut each fillet into 2 or 3 lengthwise (this will depend on how wide each fillet is) then rotate and cut vertically into 3 to 4 cubes) your goal is to get 2 inch cubes.
Season the Salmon cubes
- Mix the seasoning till combined. Pat Salmon fillets dry with paper towels if it has become wet due to condensation.
- Transfer salmon cubes into a clean mixing bowl add the seasoning and oil, then toss to combine. Ensure all the bites are well coated.
Air fry
- Place seasoned Salmon bites in air fryer basket and air fry at 380°F / 200°C for 8 to 10 mins. If you like it really crispy, air fry for another 2 to 4 mins.
