Yes you can, Haddock fillet is one of the fish recipes you can easily make in the air fryer. This air fried haddock recipe is quick and delicious and can make for a great side dish for many vegetable recipes from air fried roasted veggies, air fryer asparagus, carrots or zuchinni. Haddock fillets pair well with other side dishes like fried rice, air fryer potato wedges and lots more.
This air fryer fish with no breading was made in my Cosori air fryer, however it has cooked well in my Gourmia and Instant pot air fryers respectively. The point being that it will cook well in the Ninja foodi, Power Xl or any air fryer brand you have, the only thing you will need to do is keep an eye and adjust the timing accordingly.

- Healthy: Fish is a great source of protein to incorporate in a healthy diet. Haddock fillets are a great source of minerals such as Selenium, Iron, Potassium and Magnesium. It also comes highly recommended because its been fond to be high in protein, low calorie and low in Mercury content.

- Gluten free. Haddock is naturally gluten free. so if you are gluten free, be sure to use gluten free ingredients when air frying Haddock. This recipe is made with no breading so it easily falls into that category since the spice blend used are gluten free too. If you are makimg a battered or breaded version, be sure to use GF flour.
- Family friendly: Though Haddock has a bit more fishy smell and taste than Cod, it's still mild tasting when compared to other fishes like Titus, Catfish or Mackerel fish.

Mix fish seasoning blend and set aside, rinse haddock fillets, Pat dry with paper towels and brush with oil on one side, generously sprinkle the fish seasoning, then flip fish and repeat.

Air fried Haddock can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. If making ahead, let cool completely before storage. Do the same if storing leftovers.
Haddock VS Cod! What’s the difference?
Haddock and Cod are both white fish and look quite similar when you see them in store until you probably look at the tags to see which one it is. That’s why you might wonder if there is really a difference.
The main difference I can illustrate is in taste and texture. Cod fish is firmer in texture than haddock and though they are both mild tasting, haddock fillets have a slightly more prominent fish taste than cod.
Air frying Tips
- Pat fish dry with paper towel before proceeding to season the fish. This will prevent seasoning from sliding off the fish.
- No need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe. However if your air fryer preheats naturally, it will cook in a shorter time
- Depending on the thickness of the fish fillets, start checking for doneness at 7 mins. add more time as needed.
- If you intend to serve this recipe with a sauce like cream cheese sauce or garlic butter sauce, you can skip the paprika and use only the garlic powder (halved), onion powder and salt.

Can you cook frozen Haddock in Air fryer?
Frozen haddock can be cooked in the air fryer without the need to thaw. If it's icy, you can deglaze by running under water before seasoning and cooking in the air fryer. it will take a couple of minutes longer to cook. all you need to do is to keep a close eye on it to prevent it from overcooking.
What time and temp is best for air fried Halibut?
I cooked this recipe at 350F because of the delicate nature of the fillets. it took me 8 to 10 minutes to get my desired texture. Air fryers cook differently so i would suggest you keep a close eye of this recipe if you are cooking it for the first time in your air fryer.
Can you cook other white fishes like Halibut, Cod, Bass or Pollock in the air fryer?
Yes you can also cook cod, halibut and other white fishes in the air fryer. The method to use isn't much different from this air fried haddock recipe. This recipe should work well for any similar sized air fryer fish with no breading.

Air Fryer Haddock
Ingredients
- 1 lb Haddock about 3 fillets
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ to 1 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
Prepare the fish fillets
- Mix seasoning to make the fish seasoning blend and set aside. Pat Haddock fillets dry with paper towels.
- Brush with oil, sprinkle seasoning generously on the haddock, flip over and repeat process.
Air Frying the Haddock fillets
- Gently place fillets in the air fryer, do not over crowd, its ok if its over lapping slightly
- Air fry at 350°F / 180°C for 8 to 10 mins. I didn't need to flip the fillets.
Notes
- No need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe. However if your air fryer preheats naturally, it will cook in a shorter time.
- Do not overcrowd the basket or stack the fish fillets. Its ok to cook in batches if needed.
- Depending on the thickness of the fish fillets, start checking for doneness at 7 mins. add more time as needed.
