Air frying Tips
- Most recipes on the internet call for 6 eggs. However this recipe works for up to 6 eggs (1-6) If you are making more than 6 eggs it would take a longer time to cook. For instance, 10 to 12 eggs would cook in 17 to 18 mins as against the 15 mins it takes to cook 6 eggs.
- The temp is 270°F / 130°C and not 370°F / 188°C. I remember my first attempt at air fryer boiled eggs was a disaster because I cooked it at a high temperature. The eggs came out burnt of course. You know what? I didn’t give up. I tried again and got it right.
- Shock the eggs in an ice bath or cold water for at least 3 mins for hard boiled and 5 mins for soft boiled before attempting to peel the eggs.
- When cooking up to 12 eggs, check one egg at the 18 mins mark by shocking it and peeling. If it’s not hard boiled, cook for another 2 mins in the air fryer.
- Make sure eggs don’t have cracks or it will leak in the air fryer while cooking

I really hate to be a pain in the butt, but these are hard cooked, not hard boiled. Same for the adjustment of time for soft cooked.
Chichi says
Hey Marc!
You are totally not a pain! Feel free to call if what you like. The important thing is that you get what you want out of it. Enjoy.
PS: I didn’t quite get what you meant about the soft boiled. Do you need help with that? Let me know

did one egg at 270 degrees for 15 mins., worked perfect ! - then cooked 6 eggs at 270 degrees for 15 mins 1/3 cooked each - not good - added 10 more mins. looked about the same......no more air fried eggs....they cost to much .
Air Fryer Yum says
Hey Jim,
I don’t know what could have gone wrong because this is how I cook my eggs both in my Cosori and Gourmia air fryers and both have similar watts. May i ask what air fryer you have. Is the watt less than 1700?
I’m sorry about the eggs as they are truly expensive at the moment. Maybe leave off trying again till the cost of eggs get back to normal. You could continue to use your stovetop or a microwave.
Janet says
I have chicken's so my eggs are very fresh. Will I still do them the same.
Air Fryer Yum says
Hi Janet,
I would suggest you add an extra minute then test one by shocking in cold water to see if it peels easily.
Rita says
I've done it twice now and love the way they came out of the shell so easy, didn't even use ice cubes just very cold water Set the eggs in the cold water for about ten minutes as soon as they are done, take them out and simply crack the bottom and give it a slight roll and the peel comes right off. Oh yeah this is going to be my forever way of making my ha

Hi Fonda,
Happy it worked out for you. With medium eggs, try cooking for less time. I would suggest 14 mins.
Cathy says
This worked like a charm. I think the first time I used 8 eggs for the same time and it didn’t quite peel well. Today I tried with 6 eggs and it worked. I will increase the time when next I make more than 6 eggs but for now will enjoy my victory lol. Thanks
Air Fryer Yum says
Happy to hear of your victory 😀 thanks for letting us know.
