The time it takes to cook sausage links in the air fryer depends on a variety of factors which include brand of air fryer, temperature at which it is cooked and how browned you like your links.
These sausage links were fully cooked in 8 mins at 400°F / 200°C. I cooked for an extra 1 minute to get it to my desired level of brown and crispy.
How to cook Air fryer sausage links

Place sausage links in a single layer in the air fryer basket or rack.
Set temperature to 400°F / 200°C for 8 to 10 mins. Shake the basket or flip sausages with a pair of tongs.
What to serve with
The great thing about cooking sausage is that you have options! You can serve these air fried sausages alone or pair them up with some scrambled eggs or homemade pancakes. The sky's the limit on how you can serve up these sausages!
How to store and reheat air fryer sausage links
Once you have cooked sausage, storing them is a breeze. Just add them to an airtight container and keep them chilled in the fridge.
To reheat, simply arrange them on a microwave safe plate lined with paper towel and warm at 10 seconds intervals for 40 seconds or until warmed through.
You can reheat in the air fryer as well. Place leftovers in basket and cook for 4 to 6 minutes at 400°F/ 200°C or till warmed through.
Best tips for air fryer sausage links
- No need to preheat the air fryer. If you do, cook links in less time.
- If cooking with an air fryer oven like the instant pot vortex oven cook in the middle rack for about 2 minutes less with the air fryer basket because the instant vortex preheats automatically.
- Do not over crowd the basket and be sure to flip the sausages half way through cooking time.

Fresh sausage links
- Arrange sausage links in air fryer basket or rack. Set temperature to 400°F / 200°C and air fry for 8 to 10 mins.
- Shake the basket or flip the sausages half way through cooking time to ensure sausage links brown and cook evenly on all sides.
For frozen sausage links
- Place the frozen links in the basket without overcrowding. Cook at 380°F / 180°C for 5 mins to defrost and seperate links if they are stuck together, then increase temp to 400°F / 200°C and cook for 6 to 7 more mins
Reheating sausage links
- Place cooked sausages in air fryer basket. Set temperature to 400°F / 200°C and cook for 6 mins or until warmed through.

I believe you can cook raw ham hock aka eisbein in the air fryer. Depending on size I would cook at 400°F / 200°C for up to 25 mins or until internal temp is 165°F / 74°C. Enjoy!
