How to store and reheat bacon wrapped foods
Most of the time, there are hardly any leftovers when it comes to Bacon wrapped. However if you do have leftovers, they would keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
If you are looking to make these ahead, I recommend making up to the stage of wrapping the bacon then arrange on a cookie sheet, cover with cling film and refrigerate till you are ready to bake or air fry. Do not leave uncooked bacon wrapped foods longer than 2 days before cooking.
Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F till warmed through.
Air frying Tips
- No need to preheat the air fryer
- Bacon shrinks as it cooks. Bear this in mind when cutting bacon. Also cold bacon is easier to cut. It’s it’s warm and slippery, when cutting, pop it into the freezer for 5 to 10 mins.
- Some recipes may require that you cook the bacon slightly (halfway through) before wrapping the food in it to ensure it really gets crispy.
- Use firm yellow bananas if making bacon wrapped bananas.
- Wrap the tater tots when they are still frozen.
- To ensure the bacon stays put in most of these recipes, you may need to use toothpicks however not all recipes require this. For those that don’t, ensure that you place them seam side down for the first few minutes of air frying.

From experience, I recommend thin cut bacon for anything bacon wrapped because it ensures you get crispy bacon without overcooking the wrapped food.
Also it reduces the need to precook the bacon. If you do use thick cut bacon expect to cook for longer than when cooked with regular cut.
The air fryer makes the best bacon. Air fryer bacon cooks in 8 to 10 mins depending on how crispy you like your bacon. We’ve made air fryer bacon bits, twisted bacon and even frozen bacon in air fryer.
Not all bacon wrapped appetizers need to be secured with toothpicks.
Some like air fryer bacon wrapped potatoes, and air fryer bacon wrapped pineapple bites may need to be secured while others like bacon wrapped crackers or bacon wrapped tater tots don’t need to.
The trick is to start air frying seam side down so that you get a seal from the cooked bacon by the time you are ready to flip.
